About Tina Belge
Tina is the owner of a small business, Catalyst Community Consulting, where she helps spark change for local governments, nonprofits, and the private sector for housing affordability. She utilizes her community development and urban planning background, as well as her policy and advocacy skills, to help her clients make a sustainable impact. Her career has spanned the governmental, non-profit, and private sectors where she has written, led, and advocated for policy in regards to housing affordability, trees, and zoning reform.
She is a two-time AmeriCorps service member, former planner at both Greenville County Redevelopment Authority and Greenville County, former Executive Director of Keep Greenville County Beautiful, former Director of Policy and Advocacy for the Greenville Housing Fund, and former candidate for SC Senate 6.
Her volunteerism includes founding the Young Voter Coalition, an organization run by young people for young people, with a focus on voter registration and civic engagement. She also serves on the boards of SC Women’s Affordable Housing Network, is a founding member of SC Women In Leadership, Twin Lake Cottages HOA President, and is a Summit Drive PTA member and Member of Meals on Wheels Young Professionals. She has also served as Vice Chair of the Greenville County Parks and Recreation Board, Upcountry History Museum, United Way Campaign Cabinet, Chair of their Young Leaders Society, as well as several other boards and is a graduate of Leadership Greenville Class 43 and Furman’s Women Leadership Institute as well as voted Best and Brightest under 35.
She is the third generation of her family to live in the Upstate and is an alumnus of Georgia Southern University and UNC Chapel Hill’s MPA program, where she focused on Community and Economic Development. She’s married to her wonderful husband (and high school sweetheart), Jacob, with whom she has two daughters, Sammy and Robin. They also have two dogs, Lily and Ruff.
